Saronic Islands
Saronic Islands are located south of Athens. Due to the shorter distances and low winds they are very suitable destination if you are sailing for the first time.
You can find a wide variety of things - from ancient temples and picturesque streets with small galleries, hospitable lively places with good food and traditional drinks. We will not mention the beautiful beaches, even the short-beaked dolphin in the Aegean sea admires them.
Aegina is often the first stop after departing from Athens. In addition to its beautiful sandy beaches, rocky coves and beach bars, the island is famous for cultivation of pistachios. If you love history, we recommend that you visit the Temple of Afeya dating from the fifth century BC.
Hydra is a small island, with rich history, where reign full peace and idyll - no buses, no cars or motorcycles. They say that Hydra is a city of artists, with many galleries, exhibitions of famous artists, artistic cafes, private art museum, a theater. Most beaches are rocky, with few exceptions, but the water is crystal.
Poros is known for its rich culinary choice and cozy streets for walking, where you can sit and enjoy the nice atmosphere with a drink. Beautiful view opens up from the top of the clock tower. To the north is the Temple of Poseidon, surrounded by breathtaking scenery.
Spetses Island, along with Hydra and Poros, play a decisive role during the war of independence of Greece. Spetses was home to the famous Greek heroine Laskarina Bouboubolinas and her house is a museum documenting her life and contributions to the battle for independence. The island has incredible beaches and many opportunities for water sports.
